Mary, The love that you, Peter and Paul have shown to generations will never be forgotten. I enjoyed your music as a child and love to hear my children sing your songs and recognize "Peter Paul and Mary" when the songs come on the radio. Mary, your presence on this earth will be missed....we prayed for you when you were going through your treatment....you were included in our children's "night-night prayers" every night....Our hope is that Peter and Paul will continue to tour accompanied by your Spirit. Peter and Paul....may God Bless you both and help you overcome the loss of your dear friend and comrade...

For Mary... WEEP NOT FOR ME Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness. Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms. Beloved Mary. I am your fan since 16 years old for 40 years. I still remember your voice that I heard when you came to Tokyo 40 years ago. It is my regret to have missed an opportunity to go to U.S.A. to hear your voice last year. I pray you soul may rest in peace heartily.

Learning of Mary's passing was heartbreaking to me. My vision is blurred and my tears have not stopped flowing. Nevertheless, I have decided to do my small part to keep her memory alive. Today, I picked up my guitar and quietly strummed the chords to "If I Had A Hammer", all the while hearing Peter, Paul and yes, Mary singing along with me. I will teach some of Mary's songs to my granddaughter. We shall sing them together and she will remember that Mary Travers was the singer with the pretty hair, beautiful smile, and a voice that touched hearts and changed people; Things few from her generation can apprehend. She'll also know that Mary Travers sometimes makes her Grandpa cry when he plays her songs on his guitar.

We have such a loss because you and your voice have been taken from us. The ideals you lived by hopefully will continue to be present in us, in your music, which will never die, and hopefully in the world. You always believe that things will always get better. We hope with you, but do grieve the loss of such an outstanding person.
