Mary Travers passed away on September 16th. After successful recovery from leukemia through a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, Mary succumbed to the side effects of one of the chemotherapy treatments. We all loved her deeply and will miss her beyond words.

Dear Travers family and friends,
This remarkable and immensely talented woman will be sorely missed. I can't fathom that there will be no more Peter, Paul & Mary concerts on PBS to delight in and sing along with!

"Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing" One of the most fragrant has gone on to her hereafter and I know she is still singing...

Mary, I lost my brother to leukemia in 2000. He was an artist...sculptor. I picture your spirits joining to promote peace and wipe out injustice. Thank you for inspiring so many people with your amazing voice and songs.

Jean-Claude

I grew up in a family that did not practice religion, but I learned much about the Christian life through your songs. Thank you for sharing your talents and truth.

Mary is one of my strong female role models. As a jr high-high school girl growing up with a guitar in one hand and a creative spirit in the other during the late 60s and early 70s, I looked to Mary as a way I wanted to be in the world. I have loved and -- subconsciously and consciously -- patterned my own singing and guitar playing style after Mary, Peter, and Noel Paul. Thank you so much.

I've always been proud to say that my very first concert when I was young was Peter, Paul & Mary (and they even let me back stage on my own). I'm so very lucky to have a father who brought me up to appreciate their beautiful music. Mary was a beautiful person and I will miss her wonderful voice and gift of song that she gave us for so many years.

Our common love of your music brought my wife and I together and we are still singing your songs 45 years later.

Thank you and God bless

From the time I was a little girl listening to Peter Paul, and Mary on the hi-fi, their songs have touched my heart and soul. My children, now grown, also grew up singing those same songs, plus the new ones, as I brought each of them to concerts when the trio played in the Boston area. Mary, you shall be missed, and the world is a sadder place now that you are gone. Thank you for sharing your talent and your love for the less fortunate as this has helped to make me and my family better people. Peter and Paul will not be the same without Mary.
