Mary Travers passed away on September 16th. After successful recovery from leukemia through a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, Mary succumbed to the side effects of one of the chemotherapy treatments. We all loved her deeply and will miss her beyond words.

Never forget Newport '64 her red dress and long blonde hair under the spotlights, she had a way to turn her head so her hair would roll from the top of her head all down her back....

RIP Mary

In memory of Mary Travers

her "tiny sparrow" is the most beautiful song I have heard

Rest in GOD, even you cannot sing again

All of us remember your generous and voice to the world.

I remember sometimes my mom would listen to Peter, Paul, and Mary, and I'd sing along. Now, when I started the new school year, my mom told me Mary Travers had died. Well, if that didn't ruin a day or two of my life, then nothing ever has. But, my mom and my music teacher decided that a little remembrance of Mary was needed. So we're singing "All the Pretty Little Horses" and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?", two songs I know very well. We miss you, Mary, and we sing to you from all our hearts and our souls, knowing that even though your self is gone from the earth, your spirit lives in us, and gives us our voices, voices that we use to make song and create a beautiful noise that we dedicate all to you.

Sorry to hear of the news, I just found out today while looking for the wedding song. Mary, I had a few of the records from the old days and I listened to them till they were worn out. Thank you for your wonderful voice and music. Thanks Peter, Paul, and Mary. God Bless you all.

I am devastated. From the time I sneaked out of bed as a child to watch the trio on Ed Sullivan, I have been mesmerized. I took all my children to concerts and always hoped for one more. The music has been a constant presence - it fills my iPod and goes everywhere with me. Mary was so wonderful. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

With a shake of her head
in perfect time
under stage lights
she captured me

Sweetest thing i ever heard
to see me off on a
steaming ship

She made everybody smile !

Now i am out here in the weather
only my delight to
wrap around me.

For so many years of viewing and for so many, many hours of listening, you brought, joy, hope, and humanity to my heart. I join these hundreds of others in great admiration and appreciation of you and all of the wonderful things you have done.
